Setting up Amazon Echo

Here is an explanation on how to set up Amazon Echo.

Preparation for Setup

1. Install the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone and log in with your Amazon account.
2. Prepare a Wi-Fi network and connect your smartphone to it.
3. Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone.

Setup Steps

1. Connect Amazon Echo to a power source. There is no power switch, so it will turn on automatically when connected.
2. Press and hold the Action button (dot icon) on Echo for about 10 seconds, and wait for the announcement “Setup mode is on.” Once the indicator lights up orange and rotates, the setup is ready.
3. Open the Alexa app on your smartphone and follow these steps
   • Open the More menu
   • Tap the plus icon and select “Add Device”
   • Select “Amazon Echo” and choose your Echo model
4. Follow the app instructions. During the process, you will be asked to connect to an SSID named “Amazon-XX” in your smartphone’s Wi-Fi settings
5. Once the Wi-Fi setup is complete, the connection with Echo will be established
6. If needed, proceed with language selection, time zone confirmation, and external speaker setup

Additional Settings

After completing the setup, you can customize skill additions and various settings using the Alexa app. Follow the above steps to complete the setup of Amazon Echo. Once you get a response when calling “Alexa,” you can start using it.
